Wednesday Weekly #33

It was a busy week this week!  I got to celebrate my 28th birthday with my friends and they got me gift certificates to my favourite little fabric shop (they know me well) and I splurged on some new patterns for spring.  I got the Sewaholic Saltspring dress, because it is so pretty and I am dying to make a camisole hack like this one here.  I also got the Grainline Maritime shorts because, well, summer = shorts, and if I am going to continue avoiding RTW I’m going to have to make some!  I also picked up the Deer + Doe Fumeterre because it is sooooo cool!  I love the idea of a black version in a light viscose rayon, so swooshy!

The new Hannah dress from Victory patterns is simply stunning.  I love the back detail and those pockets!

Megan Nielsen released the Sudley dress and blouse, a simple silhouette with a lovely keyhole detail.

These Birkin Flares from Dandelion Drift are really making me want to take the sewing jeans leap!

The first Hannah in the wild!  This version from Clever Tinker is just as awesome as the samples.

This tiger heads maxi dress from Hanne Vandersteen is so cool!

I love the casual look of Meg’s new Halifax Hoodie.

Some seriously inspiring stripe work happening over on Sew Busy Lizzy.

These dungarees from Ms Wabi Sabi are too cute!

I love the elegance of Lily Sage & Co’s latest off the shoulder creation.

A very smart two piece from Bobbin & Baste.

Don’t miss this stunning little jacket from In a Manner Of Sewing.

Christine Haynes has updated her tutorials section of her website.  Lots of great info here!

Caroline from Blackbird Fabrics released a course on skillshare!  It is a guide to fashion fabrics.  I already took the whole course (it just came out today, haha, total nerd).  It was great!  Highly recommend this.

Since I got onto Skillshare from of Caroline’s link in her blog, I got three months for 99 cents! It is really amazing all the courses that are available, I am excited to try more! Like this DIY leather bucket bag from Ada Spragg.

  1. Happy Birthday! I’m turning 28 this year too! So glad you enjoyed the class, and thanks so much for mentioning it here! Was pretty nerve wracking putting something like that out into the world but I’m thrilled at the response so far 🙂

    1. Thanks, Caroline! That is awesome, high-five for 28! I can only imaging all the work and love that went into it, you should be very proud 🙂
