Since our move to Vancouver Island, I am in need of more models for our photoshoots! If you are interested or know somebody who would be, please reach out and/or share this post! See below for more details.
Who can apply?
We are looking for any body shape and size and any age! We are especially interested in finding more plus-size models for our shoots. No modeling experience is necessary. As long as you love to smile you will do great!
We are located in the Comox Valley (Courtenay) on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. If you live here or near here that is ideal. If you live in Vancouver we are also interested in hearing from you! We travel there often and can arrange to do shoots there, too.
What is involved:
We will make the designs to fit you, so we need your measurements and (if possible) we would meet ahead of time to try on a test version of the design and make adjustments. We will also talk about styling and discuss shoes, accessories, and other garments needed for the shoot. If you don't happen to have something suitable to pair with our design we will make or purchase something for you.
We like our models to style their own hair and makeup in a way that is true to their personal style and preferences. this helps them to feel comfortable and confident!The photoshoot itself is about 2-3 hours. We work with a photographer and a seamless backdrop in a photo studio. We will also take some 'lifestyle' shots outdoors. We will make sure you feel comfortable and beautiful for the photoshoot!
Are the models paid?
Yes! Models are paid a flat rate of $100 CAD for participating in the shoot AND they get to keep some or all of the custom made-to-measure garments. If you are a sewist yourself, you also get the patterns in the shoot!
What kind of photos are we looking for?
We love it when our models smile and laugh! We also need to capture the details in the patterns, but we will help you pose to make sure we do that. Our favorite pics are of in-the-moment laughter and joy. It's not hard to get because the shoots are so much fun!
