Wednesday Weekly #133

Happy Wednesday! I am in the middle of putting the finishing touches on an upcoming pattern and am about to make the final samples for the photoshoot. I love this part! Choosing the final fabrics is so much fun and I get to sew for a whole day as 'work', which is basically the dream. I can't wait to share more, but for now, here are some great releases this week from some of my fellow designers. :) News (clockwise from top left) Hey June released the Phoenix Blouse. Fresh Press Patterns released the James Pants. Designer Stitch released the Eden Jumpsuit. Community Events Did you know that the Great British Sewing Bee is coming back!? Auditions are now open, and you can apply here. Applications are closing on May 28th, so get in there while you can! Lauren from Lladybird is hosting the Outfit Along again! “The idea behind the Outfit Along (OAL) is to make a complete outfit by sewing a garment and knitting (or crocheting, if that’s more your thing) a garment.” Learn more here! Makes Love this dress from Sunny Gal Studio. Sewrendipity is looking glamorous in her latest skirt. Check out this lovely button-up shirt from Jazz Couture. Fa Sew La made a gorgeous Suki Robe. I can’t get over how cool this Pendrell blouse from Saki Jane is! Jess from La Mercerie made an awesome Myosotis dress. This faux-knit Blackwood Cardigan from Crafty Clyde is fab. I want to steal this Reeta dress from What Katie Sews. This colour-blocked Kalle Shirt from Belgian Seams is so cool! Resources Heather Handmade shares 15 Sewing Room Hacks. Megan Nielsen is focusing on how to sew a flat felled seam. Jenny is on the Curvy Sewing Collective this week to share how to add inseam pockets to almost any pattern. On the Podcast Tilly Walnes from Tilly and the Buttons joins us to chat about her sewing patterns, personal style, and how she balances running a business with being a new mum.
