How can it be the middle of February already? I think I go through this every year after Valentines day. Maybe because Easter is the next big holiday it seems like Spring is upon us! That is hardly the truth when I look out my window, but I have been trying to focus on Spring sewing and wardrobe maintenance. With me-made-may not too far in the future, I need to fill some holes in my closet ASAP, I'm looking at you Ginger Jeans and Archer Button-up... Helen's Closet Wednesday Weekly News So many great patterns were released in the past couple of weeks! Paprika patterns released the Opal Cardigan, a great layering piece with three lengths. Grainline Studio added an Archer popover add-on for their awesome Archer Button-up. By Hand London has released the Sarah shirt, a loose, feminine button up blouse. Check out this round up of tester versions - so chic! Tilly And The Buttons released a great beginner pattern called the Dominique Skirt. This is perfect for anyone thinking about learning to sew. The Collete book club had it's first book discussion! Did you participate in reading The Forgotten Seamstress by Liz Trenow? I did! Head over to Colette to check out the discussion. Makes Anya has been making impressive progress on her pants fitting adventure. Reading about her process has really inspired me to make some blocks of my own and pay more attention to fitting issues as I sew. Meg posted her 1000th blog post over on Cookin' and Craftin'. I absolutely love Meg's style and this latest make is no exception. This black and white suit from Lilacs and Lace is stunning. Lindsay made an impressive pair of Ginger Jeans, Her topstitching is sooooo good! This Ultimate Wrap Dress from Dandelion Drift is gorgeous. Resources Madelynne shares tips on attaching underwear crotch lining. Portia is continuing on with shaping the Colette Laurel Dress to fit her back perfectly. Inspiration Marie's pictures from the Liberty in Fashion exhibition at London's Fashion and Textile Museum are awesome. I am swooning over all those amazing colors and prints!
