Wednesday Weekly #55

Wow! What a week in the sewing world! There have been so many awesome pattern releases it is hard to keep up! This week, I hosted a little sewathon with Caroline from Blackbird Fabrics, and we made a bunch of wardrobe basics together! It was so much fun and I am loving having more layering pieces to grab and go. She also showed me how to make my own undies and I am completely obsessed now. They are so much more comfortable than store bought undies! Once again, I am wondering why I waited so long to give it a try. I was having some website issues yesterday, so apologies for the late WW! Wednesday Weekly Helen's Closet News The latest issue of Seamwork is out offering two new dress patterns! The Winona and the Arden are both glamourous options for cooler weather. Sew House Seven released the Toaster Sweaters. Closet Case Files released the Kelly Anorak. Words cannot express how excited I am to make this pattern! Jennifer Lauren Vintage released the Ivy pinafore dress. Blank Slate Patterns released the Auberley dress. Orange Lingerie is now offering the popular boylston bra pattern in DDD to J cups. October marks the end of the Refashioners 2016, and the beginning of slow fashion October! Read more about it on the Fringe Association. There is a brand new podcast available for those moments when you can’t be sewing, or perhaps you’d like to listen while you sew. The Maker Style podcast launched this week with 4 episodes! I’ve devoured them all and am excited to hear more. Makes This Decades of Style Object d'Art Dress from Sew for Victory is blowing my mind. A lovely pop of colour on this Charleston dress from Sew Haligonian. I love the simplicity of this men's shirt refashion from Trash to Couture. A beautiful Ogden cami from Sew Bon. This Inari Tee and pencil skirt combo from Sewing Like Mad is amazing. I am stunned by this dress from Peneloping this week. I love this Cotton + Steel fabric!
