Happy Wednesday, makers! I have a new segment in the Wednesday Weekly this week! I am sharing some of the amazing community events that are happening, so you can stay up to date on deadlines, dates, and join in! There is always so much going on in this little sewing world of ours, it can be hard to keep up! Wednesday Weekly Helen's Closet Pattern News (clockwise from top left) I’m a little late on this release, but I swooned when I saw Meg’s version of the new Mitchell dress and jumpsuit from Paddleboat Studio. Cashmerette released an expansion pack to turn your Harrison Shirt into a Harrison Shirtdress. Greenstyle Creations released the Sybil robe. Community Sewing Events Community Events (clockwise from top left) This Friday, join in the first ever Curvy Sewing Collective online sewing party. All sizes welcome! Ohhh Lulu Lingerie is hosting a Valentine's Day Lingerie sewalong. The Day and Night Dress Challenge continues, this event closes for entries on January 28th. Makes This old man plaid coat from Cat In A Wardrobe is amazing. Speaking of coats, don’t miss this bright and cheerful make from Bee Made. I always swoon when I see gorgeous Bruyere shirts like this one from My Handmade Wardrobe. This Lonetree vest and striped top combo from Sew Wrong is fantastic. Grosgrain Green found the brocade of my dreams and made a beautiful skirt! Business on the outside, party on the inside! Check out this Waver jacket from Emma’s Atelier. I am loving this form-fitting jumper from By Gum By Golly. Sara’s plaid wool Merchant and Mills dress is freaking awesome. Also, I would go to Utah just for that little fabric shop! Au Fil Des Pages achieved pocket perfection on her latest Ginger Jeans. Resources Sew DIY shares tips for sewing with sequins. The Overflowing Stash has been working on a clingfilm pants fitting project. Check out her tips here. Sew Country Chick shows us how to raise the armscye depth for a better fit. Melly Sews demonstrates a method for hemming jeans while keeping the original hem! Inspiration I love hearing from you guys! Recently, a fellow Vancouverite and sewist reached out to me via email to say hi. She is planning to focus on vlogging her sewing journey in 2017 so you can follow along on her YouTube channel, PBunnieP, to see what she makes! Her videos are high quality and she is impressively composed. I could never talk on camera for so long without messing up!
