Wednesday Weekly #9

News: Sewaholic released FIVE new patterns this week, all designed for an active lifestyle. I am so impressed with all of these designs, they really push the boundaries of home sewing and offer a challenge for even the most experienced sewers. Although they are more detailed, with Tasia’s excellent instructions I’m sure beginners could tackle these makes too. I am particularly taken with the Pacific leggings and the Dunbar top. Sewaholic Patterns Makes: Is there anything cheerier than Gingham? It always makes me smile, and Jane’s top is no exception. I love Yetunde’s Peplum top, the silhouette it creates is superb from every angle. How cool is Margo’s dress with those cut out details? I would just look at that fabric on the bolt and be way too confused about how to use it for a project. I love how she used it on the top and bottom, just enough to tie the whole garment together. Tasha made the Kielo Wrap dress by Named Patterns. I love how elegant this dress looks and the fabric choice is so pretty. Sew Busy Lizzy took a stab at the Sewaholic Nicola. Although she says it isn’t her style, it does look lovely and I agree that is is odd this pattern has not received more interest. It is sitting on my desk in front of me and I am very excited to make it soon! Bella made two gorgeous Alder Shirtdresses, one of each version. I love way the geometric shapes add visual interest on the purple one. Heather made FOUR Laurel dresses, each one more adorable than the last! I think I really need to start making multiples of patterns and take the time to perfect the fit and style. Amy’s Sew Over It Vintage Shirtdress is so cute! I love mustard and navy together, and add in that cat print? Ahmazing. Rebecca’s Rouleau edged top is simply divine, I love how delicate it looks and how it draws the eye to the collarbone. Inspiration: I went on a hunt for some new music this week, here are a few songs I am really excited about:
