I wanted to make another pair of June Pants because they are all I want to wear right now. I love the shorts view too but the pants are just so versatile for my everyday activities like working from from home, walking the dog, or running errands. I was thinking about which fabric to use and I remembered that I had some of this hemp cotton denim left in my stash. This is one of my all time favourite fabrics! It is so soft and drapey while still feeling like denim, and it gets even softer and lighter with wear. Perfect for June!
For the Cassidy Wrap Top, I’ve been dying to try out one of the new Blackbird Fabrics block prints. This pink and blue one felt like a great fit with the denim pants. I also love love LOVE this fabric. It is so lightweight but still very stable and easy to sew with. I decided to do a mashup of the two Cassidy views - I used the short sleeves from view A with the cropped length and wide tie from view B. This is the same mashup we did for our white and black sample and I love it!
The final result is a really cute outfit! I did do the drawstring even though when you wear them together you get a double tie situation. I’m not bothered by it personally, but if you were you could just take out the drawstring. I really love these pieces together and also separately! I can see myself wearing these pants ALL THE TIME and the top more for outings like a meal or the farmers market.
