It’s launch day!! I’m beyond excited to announce not one, but TWO new patterns in the Helen’s Closet collection. Introducing the Cassidy Wrap Top and the June Pants and Shorts sewing patterns! Both of these patterns are extremely wearable for all seasons and work well together or separately.

The Cassidy Wrap Top
Let’s take a closer look at Cassidy first. The Cassidy Wrap Top is designed for light to medium weight woven fabrics like cotton, linen, and viscose. Two views offer you the choice between a longer top with a narrow tie or a shorter, cropped top with a wide tie. There is also the option to add a tapered sleeve to the dropped shoulder.
Cassidy comes in two size ranges. The first is sizes 0-22 based on a B-cup bust and the second is sizes 12-34 based on a D-cup bust. The shaping is achieved using gathers under the bust and there is also gathering at the center back as an additional design detail.
The ties are long enough to wrap all the way around the back and join in the front for a small tie, or you can tie them in the back for a large dramatic bow. This is especially true for the wide tie and it is even more dramatic in structured fabrics. We love how the cropped wrap top pairs with high-waisted garments, and the longer peplum top looks great with lots of different bottoms (including June)!
The June Pants and Shorts
The June Pants and Shorts is the sister pattern to our Arden Pants. This is a classic high-waist elastic waist pant with a wide leg. Views for both pants and shorts are included, as well as a third view for an overlapping petal short design. You can sew June in light to medium weight wovens and you can add a little contrast in the bias binding detail on the petal shorts if desired.
June includes anchored inseam pockets for view A and B (classic pant and short). View C (petal shorts) does not have pockets. The waistband topstitching and drawstring is optional for all views. A nice deep hem is included for the classic pants and shorts.
View C of June lends itself well to pajama shorts and can easily be coordinated with our free Orchard Top and Dress pattern to create a matching set!
We love how effortless June is. It’s so nice to have those go-to wardrobe workhorse pieces and June is definitely one of those. Make a pair of June Pants in mid-weight linen and you’ll probably never want to take them off! Just ask our model, Corina—she’s obsessed!
