Full Circle Skirt : Helliwell Bluffs

I'm currently traveling in New York, so these pics are actually of a project from last summer that I never got a chance to share on the blog! I experimented with working with some blankets/tablecloths from India last year, and this was one of the projects. This blanket already had a circle medallion design on it, so I simply cut around it, cut a hole in the middle, and cut straight from the edge to the center to make this wrap design. I attached a waistband wth ties to fasten the skirt on, and hemmed the bottom to finish! It is very comfortable, albeit a bit heavy. It doubles as a blanket should you ever need to sit down, though! These amazing photos were taken at Helliwell park on Hornby Island here in BC. My family goes to Hornby every summer and we never miss taking a walk on these bluffs. They are particularly gorgeous at sunset when the wheat is lit up like gold and the sky is a cool blue. Once the final rays of the sun disappeared over behind the trees, we continued our walk along the bluffs at twilight and I snapped some shots of the landscape. It's amazing to get to experience such beauty with almost no one else around! Until next year, Helliwell <3.
