Pattern Description
The Horizon Tank is a relaxed, easy-to-wear muscle tank designed for effortless layering. View A features a classic crew neckline and deep-cut armholes for a laid-back look, while View B offers a cropped variation with the same clean finish. The Horizon Tank is designed to be gender inclusive. The armholes hang low to offer breathability during workouts and Horizon looks great layered over a sports bra if desired. Both views have a straight silhouette and casual fit that works beautifully in light to medium-weight knits like jersey, rib, or bamboo blends. With its minimal design and quick construction, the Horizon Tank is a modern wardrobe staple you will want to sew and wear on repeat.

Fabric Recommendations
Light to medium-weight knit fabrics with moderate stretch. Cotton jersey, bamboo jersey, Tencel jersey, modal jersey, rib knit, and lightweight cotton spandex are ideal. Choose fabrics with good drape and recovery for the best result (around 5–8 oz / 170–270 gsm). For a more structured look, use interlock or a firmer cotton jersey; for a softer, drapier feel, try bamboo or Tencel blends.

Pattern Pairings
We’ve paired Horizon with our Avery Leggings pattern! It was so much fun to whip up some new versions of this pattern for the photoshoot. I love the snug fit of these athletic leggings and the way the waistband stays up thanks to that internal elastic! They are so nice and high-waisted, too. A perfect pairing with Horizon! With that said, keep on reading to learn more about why we are releasing this pattern now and what is coming soon in 2026!

Horizon Design
I designed Horizon based on what I wanted in a workout tank so that I could sew my own! When I work out, I like to have my underarms as open as possible for breathability, so a low cut is ideal. I also prefer a higher neck for chest coverage and a loose fit through the torso. Everybody likes different workout clothes so there is no right or wrong, but Horizon is ideal for these design features. I also love that this design can be gender inclusive and Sam and I are very much aligned on what we like in our workout tanks. He has been cutting the sleeves off of his t-shirts for a while to get this look!

Why Horizon?
We’ve got two new patterns coming your way first thing in the new year and Horizon is the third piece in the collection. I’m so excited to share more about the other two new designs very soon! I knew I wanted to offer Horizon as a free pattern because it is simple, quick to sew, and really fun to make multiples of. I can’t wait to see you all out there in your Horizon Tanks!
