A little History
We started as a blog in 2015 and built our website on Wordpress as an extension of that blog. Our online shop was also hosted on Wordpress using their ecommerce platform, Woocommerce. We have had a few website refreshes over the years but we have always had issues with site load time and website crashes. If you have been a customer for a while, you probably know what we are talking about! We have long felt that we could offer a better browsing and shopping experience. This is why we decided to move the site to Shopify!
Why Shopify?
Shopify has become the gold standard for ecommerce websites and we can see why! The shop looks beautiful, works like a dream, and the checkout process is very streamlined. Because so many websites use Shopify, the checkout page feels familiar and is easy to use.
Shopify is easier for us to use, too! We love being able to easily update and maintain the website.
Your Account
You can still access your account on our new website. We have moved over all the customer and order data so that you can see your order history. All you need to do is login using your email address and you will be asked to retrieve a code from your inbox. Enter the code and you will be logged into the new website!
Why do I need a code?
Our new site is up to date with the best practices for website security. You no longer need a password to access our website, you will only need a one-time-use code that will be sent to your inbox whenever you want to log in. This way you are logging in using a two-factor authentication and you do not need to remember a password.
Why can’t I see my order history in my account?
Make sure you are logging into the new website with the same email address that you used to make a purchase on our old site. The orders are associated with whichever email address you used at the time of purchase. If you still can’t locate your order history, reach out to us at support@helensclosetpatterns.com and we would be happy to assist you.
Your Pattern Downloads
We moved website platforms so we had to switch to a new file delivery system. When you log in to your account on our new website, you will see you order history AND be able to download your files on that new system. Note that your old download links from your old pattern confirmation emails will not work.
We had previously thought that the download links for past purchases would not be active on the new site, but as it turns out, they are! Yay!
If you have any issues getting access to your past purchases and downloading your files, contact us at support@helensclosetpatterns.com. We have retained all the order history from the old website and we will work with you to ensure you get access to your past purchases.
At the time of the website launch (November 2024), we may be experiencing a high volume of customer support emails. Please bear with us as we help everyone get access to their files.
We recommend you save your files on your computer or in a cloud file storage system (such as Google Drive or Dropbox). This way you can access your files at any time without relying on our website.
If I make a new purchase, will I get my files?
Yes! We are very excited to offer an improved file delivery service for our patterns on this new website. You will be able to see and download your files within your account. You will also receive an email with a download link.
NEW! Gift Cards
We are excited to have digital gift cards available for purchase with the launch of the new site! This is a great gift for a sewist in your life. When you purchase a gift card, you can have it emailed directly to the recipient on a scheduled date or you can email it to yourself and forward it to them. You can also print it out and give it to them in a physical card if you prefer.
