Since we released our June Pants and Shorts pattern this past spring, I have been absolutely living in this pattern. It’s so perfect for everyday wear and I love the fit in the waist and hips. I wanted to show you what this pattern looks like in a flowy fabric and how it can be lengthened to the ground for a pair of full length pants if desired.
I had our sample sewer sew up this pair of tropical June pants in a rayon slub. I love how light and drapey these are—they are so ideal for summer and I think I’ll enjoy wearing them around the house in the cooler months, too. I have a little of this fabric left over and I can totally see a matching tank top to make this a faux-jumpsuit situation.
Lengthening June is really easy, you simply add enough to take the pants to the floor. We added length at the hem but you can add it at the lengthen shorten lines if you like. When lengthening pants to the floor, I like to add more than I think I will need and then hem them when they are complete.
I look forward to sewing some more June pants for fall! I’m imagining pairs in mid-weight linen, wool, or light cotton twill. This pattern really is a great year-round wardrobe staple.
