I can’t wait to share my Lazo Jumpsuits with you! I decided not to model in our Lazo photoshoot because we had three lovely models already, but I do have a few versions of Lazo that I have made for myself and I’m dying to share! Today’s version is a Lazo Jumpsuit in denim.

I’m going to be honest, making and wearing Lazo may ruin all other clothing for you. Nothing compares to the comfort of an adjustable drawstring waist and the ease of a full body ensemble! Lazo is not one of those jumpsuits that feels restrictive or rides up, it is relaxed and perfect for everyday wear. This denim Lazo Jumpsuit has become a true favourite wardrobe item for me!
I made the pants view of Lazo for this version and I did not make any adjustments other than lengthening it for my height (I’m 5’9 ½”). I made a size 18 based on my measurements. I love how the pants hit just above the ankle because it looks so great with summer sandals and sneakers.
I also love the v-neck and sleeveless bodice. The fit is just spot-on and I feel very put together in this bodice style. And the pockets—OH the pockets! They are so deep and they are at the perfect angle for putting your hands in. Truly top notch!
My favourite feature of Lazo has to be the drawstring waist. It works with a changing body, it can be relaxed when you want to relax, and it is fun to sew! I am totally smitten with this design. The way it cinches in the waist in the front and back is just *chefs kiss*.
I got this denim a while back from Blackbird Fabrics so I don’t have the exact details for you, but I believe it is about 6 oz in weight and it has a plain weave, so it is more like a chambray than a classic twill weave denim. You could make Lazo from denim, too, but I would try to find a lighter weight one. Heavy weight denims could be too thick for the drawstring waist.
