I can hardly believe that summer is coming to an end! I have so many summer makes that I want to share before the last rays, including this rayon Lockhart Dress. This is actually an early sample of this pattern that I made to wear to a wedding last summer. I love this one! Read on to find out more.
This Lockhart Dress is made out of rayon crepe from Blackbird Fabrics. I interfaced both the outer and lining of this sample so I can wear it without a bra. I love that this pattern fits so snug on the bodice and it feels surprisingly supportive!
I made the midi length view of the pattern and I adore this length. It can be dressed up to be more formal but it also works great as a nice casual sundress. All it needs is a cute pair of sandals and you are good to go!
I went with the spaghetti straps for this version, but Lockhart does come with a wider strap option. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get tired of sewing this design! It’s just so endlessly wearable and it looks so different in different fabrics. It’s truly so much fun to sew. I know I’ll be wanting a new one for the Holiday season this year and I can’t wait to choose the perfect festive fabric for it. Stay tuned!
