It’s that time of year again! It’s corduroy season! Yes, you can wear corduroy anytime, but you have to admit that it hits different in October. The falling leaves, the shorter days, the cool, crisp air. It all lends itself so well to cozy dressing in warmer fabrics. Today I have a pair of corduroy Falconer Pants to share!

Falconer is on sale this week for 20% off during our Storewide Fall Sale! No code required. Sale ends October 29, 2025.

We actually made these corduroy Falconers back when the pattern was in development in late 2024. I’ve been wearing them loads ever since but I never got around to sharing them on the blog. This feels like the perfect time to bust them back out and show them off!

This is the fine cotton corduroy from Blackbird in the colour “dill”. Since I have been wearing these for quite a while now, I can attest to the fabric’s durability and suitability for this type of project. It is 9 oz, so it is not too heavy. We made a size 18 and I am happy with the fit. I would go for a size 20 for a stiffer fabric, but this cotton cord tends to grow as the day goes on, so sizing down was a good call.

I think the Falconer panel seams look really great in cord! As the fabric ages, the seams become more obvious/prominent and I love how they weather over time. These pants are so comfortable! I love wearing them because they are soft and warm and the fabric is not super stiff.

Because this fabric does tend to relax as the day goes on, You can end up with more folds and baggy areas around the crotch and bum. It’s all good in my book, I like being comfy when I’m out walking my dog or hanging out with friends and these corduroy pants are perfect for that!
I would make another pair of Falconers in corduroy. I’d be curious to try a wider wale or a stretch cord! I have some of this fabric in red that I might try!
