This Nita wrap skirt is made from up-cycled material from an Our Social Fabric sale. I got 7 meters of it for $2, and it is the most lovely cotton with woven black stripes that look as though they were embroidered.
When you have 7 meters of a fabric, you can afford to experiment, which is why I love the Our Social Fabric sales so much! Knowing that I am not wasting money on trying something that may not work for me makes it much easier to dive in. I also knew I could always shorten the skirt if I had second thoughts.
The Nita wrap skirt has three options for closures, the variation I chose is the view C, the tie closure. On the other side of the wrap there is a snap closure. When I’m walking this skirt has amazing drama, and not the indecent kind if that is what you are thinking. The pattern drafting eliminates any risk of exposure, it just shows one leg at a time if you are really booking it, but for the most part it stays nice and flat in front (with this heavier fabric at least).
Do you like the maxi skirt variation of this design? It doesn’t extend all the way to the ground, which is great for showing off sandals!
